Rector’s Update 22/09/2025

What a wonderful time we had last night at our Evening Celebration at All Saints’.  Mark Melluish inspired us to look for moments in our day when God unexpectedly speaks to us.    Watch this space for details of our next Benefice Evening Celebration.

We know God answers prayer and that it’s important to pray together and bring our needs before Him.  We also know also that sometimes we must persevere before we see answers, so there is another opportunity to pray for people to see and apply for House for Duty Team Vicar this Saturday (27th) from 9am to 10am at St Peter’s.  As before coffee and pastries will be served from 8.50am.  It would make a huge difference to the mission and ministry of this Benefice if we had an extra member of staff so please join us as we pray together for this.

This Thursday (25th), St Peter’s Church are hosting a MacMillan Coffee Morning from 10am -12.30pm – all profits made will help MacMillan with their vital work in supporting cancer patients.

On Sunday 5th October we will be celebrating Harvest in each of our churches.  This year we are collecting for the West Berks Foodbank and would ask for food gifts and/or financial gifts to support their work.  Details of the particular needs for the Foodbank can be found here https://westberks.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/donate-food/

Have a good week.

Steve
