Rector’s Update 28/09/2026

We had a wonderful Harvest Supper and Barn Dance on Saturday evening with people gathering from all of our churches. Thank you to all who came and helped the evening go with a swing - either by dancing, playing in the band or just by being there!  A very special thank you to all those who worked so hard to make sure that everything was set up and to provide a lovely BBQ supper for us to enjoy.  A particular thanks to John and Lindsay Bishop who allowed us to use the Black Barn again – it was much appreciated.

This coming Sunday (4th October) we will be holding Harvest Festival services at St Mary’s Bucklebury, St Denys’ Stanford Dingley and All Saints’ Upper Bucklebury.  Gifts of food or money will be for the West Berks Foodbank – please do support this worthy cause if you possibly can.

Last week we held interviews for the post of part-time Team Vicar.  As is the case with these matters, the outcome can only be made public after due process, but I will tell you more as soon as there is more to say!

On Saturday (3rd October) at 11am there will be a meeting at the Vicarage to pray for Bucklebury and Bradfield Church of England schools.  All are welcome but please let Caroline Newbold know if you are coming. 

The following Saturday (10th) there will be a Flourish Women’s Ministry event at All Saint’s Upper Bucklebury (usually held at Thatcham Baptist Church). Flourish consists of refreshments, worship, a talk and an opportunity for prayer.  This month Caroline Newbold will be speaking on ‘Who am I?’  All women are welcome but please sign up here https://thatchambaptist.churchsuite.com/events/rnznhkpf.
