Rector’s Update 24.08.26

It has been good over the summer to think about some of Jesus’ miracles in our Sunday sermons. Yesterday we considered Jesus’ healing and followed that by offering the opportunity to be anointed with oil – it was good to see so many come forward to in each of our churches.  Our sermon series ends this Sunday as we consider Jesus and the haul of fish as described in Luke 5.

Our services this coming Sunday (30th) take place as usual but as it’s the fifth Sunday of the month St Denys’ congregation will be meeting at Tutts Clump Methodist Church at 10.30am.

The advertisement for a Part-Time Team Vicar has now appeared in the press again so please do pray we would be able to make an appointment.  There will be a Prayer Meeting to pray specifically for this at All Saints’ on Saturday (29th) 9am – 10am.  Coffee and pastries will be served from 8.50am – please do come and pray for this.

A reminder of some key dates this autumn.

Sunday 6th September 
- Inter Congregational Tea at All Saints’ (3pm – 5pm) - a wonderful opportunity to socialise with those from other churches in our Benefice.

Saturday 12th September 
- Ride and Stride at all of our churches
- Plant Swap and Sale at St Denys’ (11am – 1pm)

Saturday 26th September  
- Benefice Harvest Supper and Barn Dance  at The Black Barn, Rushall Manor Farm, RG7 6DS.

Sunday 8th November                 
- Benefice Evening Celebration at All Saints’ (6.30pm).
