Rector’s Update 10/11/2025
Yesterday we marked Remembrance Sunday across the Benefice, and it was good to welcome many visitors to our church services and to the service at Bradfield War Memorial.
Tomorrow, Small Saints will celebrate its first birthday with a special session. We are grateful to all those who work to make this toddler group such a success and continue to pray for the parents, carers and children who come each week.
Next Sunday (16th) we are looking forward to a visit from our Bishop Mary to both St Mary’s Bucklebury and All Saint’s Upper Bucklebury. During these services, the Bishop will formally licence Caroline Newbold as Associate Minister to the Benefice and all are welcome to join us. The usual services will also take place at St Peter’s and St Denys’.
The evening before Bishop Mary’s visit, Saturday 15th November, St Peter’s are hosting a Tearfund Quiz Night in the Bradfield Village Hall. Why not get up a team to join in – further details from Tony Powell powell234@btinternet.com.
Finally, I am delighted to tell you that at long last we have received an application for the post of Team Vicar (House for Duty). The interview panel (consisting of representatives from all three of our Parishes) will meet this week to decide on the next steps. Please pray both for the panel and the candidate.
Have a good week.
