Rector Update

Dear friends

I hope that this finds you well.

Over the past couple of weeks Caroline and I have enjoyed being in all of our churches and meeting many of you in different contexts.

Prayer is the foundation of all that we do, and it is good that as well as our Sunday services we have two mid-week opportunities to gather for prayer.   In case you don’t know, these are on Monday at 12.15pm in person at All Saints Church and Tuesday at 7.30pm on Zoom, both lasting 30-40 minutes.  Those who attend any of our churches are very welcome.  and if you don’t have the Zoom code for Tuesday and would like to join, please ask. I am planning to set up another mid-week online prayer time probably on a Wednesday morning at 9am.  This will take the form of a more liturgical service of Morning Prayer and last about 20-25 minutes.  If you are interested, please let me know.

A great opportunity to grow in your faith is to join the group of us who will be at New Wine in the summer.  It may be too late to commit to coming for the whole time, but day tickets are now available, and you can easily get there in just over 1½ hours by car.  Further details are available here   https://newwineunited.festivalpro.com/form/rzQbZVOpaCWPLDIRvCLH/45

We are now entering the season of our Church Annual Meetings.  These mark an important time in our Churches to both reflect and look forward as a community and I would encourage you to attend if you can.  The first is tonight – full details are below:

  • Stanford Dingley – Tonight at 6.30pm at St Denys'

  • Bradfield - Wednesday 8th May at 7.30pm at St Peter's

  • Bucklebury with Marlston - Thursday 23rd May at 7.30pm at All Saints'

Finally, I mentioned that we are planning to invite all of you to Tea at the Vicarage.  The dates we have scheduled are as follows.  Do keep them free and we will let you know more before each event.

  • Sunday 12th May 3pm for All Saints' Church

  • Saturday 1st June at 3pm for St Denys' Church

  • Saturday 15th June at 3pm for St Mary’s Bucklebury and Marlston

  • Sunday 7th July at 3pm for St Peter’s Bradfield

May God bless you all this week.

Steve
